Day 1

Departing on our VIP luxury coach we travel to a town famous for the Goondiwindi Grey, Goondiwindi. During our journey we pull up in the historical town of Warwick which is where you enjoy a light lunch followed by a tour of the historical hotel where the owner shares it’s secrets. Our next stop, the GrainCorp Silos at Yelarbon titled ‘When The Rain Comes’ depicts a young boy at play, cooling off in the Yelarbon Lagoon.  Now onto  Goondiwindi where we take a browse through “Goondiwindi Cotton”. Goondiwindi Cotton is an Australian owned company and family owned for over 35 years.  The family were amongst the first to grow cotton in the MacIntyre Valley.  Listen to Sam’s story on the history of cotton. Day 2

This morning we bid farewell to Goondiwindi and shortly arrive at St George, the rural service centre which promotes itself as Queensland’s inland fishing capital.  A short drive north we reach Thallon to view the beautiful Art Silo titled ‘The Watering Hole’ the mural portrays the Thallon district and its surrounding area to perfection. After a delicious home-style lunch at the local Thallon Hotel we we depart for a beautiful and relaxing two hours cruise on the Balonne River.  You will be mesmerized by colourful scenery and wildlife.  Throughout the cruise a succinct and informative commentary provides you with information on cultural aspects, flora and fauna and learn of the district and Balonne Shire. Dinner tonight will be relaxed and enjoyed at a fabulous local Riversands Winery.

Day 3

After a leisurely start to the day, we mosey on down the track to Miles, known for it’s exceptional Historical Village where you will enjoy your wander back in time. Tonight we don our jeans and boots to experience an authentic outback camp oven dinner and entertainment at Dogwood Bend country gardens.  I’m told this is a whole lotta fun!

Day 4

Heading home today, we break at Dalby then on to Toowoomba for lunch at the Cobb & Co Museum followed by a walk through history with a local guide before our return to  Toowoomba City.
